Copy a Bonus Earn Rule

Bonus Earn Rules represent formulas used to calculate additional Metrics that a Member can earn if the order meets certain qualifications.

Optionally, you can define multiple Bonus Earn Rules with different conditions and different Metric calculations. The platform evaluates the Bonus Earn Rules in the order in which they appear on the screen, starting at the top and working down.

This article describes how to copy an existing Bonus Earn Rule to use as the starting point for a new rule. This feature is useful if you want to create a new Bonus Earn Rule that’s similar to an existing one, but perhaps you just need to make slight changes to its conditions. This article assumes that the selected Order Rule already has at least one Bonus Earn Rule defined.

To copy an existing Bonus Earn Rule:

  1. Select Rules from the top navigation bar, then select Order Rules from the side navigation menu. The Order Rules screen is displayed.

  2. Search for and select the desired Order Rule (see Search for an Order Rule for more information on the available search options). The Order Rule Details screen is displayed, with the Base Earn Rules tab selected by default.

  3. Select the Bonus Earn Rules tab.

  4. Within the section for the desired Bonus Earn Rule, click Clone. The Clone Rule pop-up window is displayed.

  1. Enter a Display Name and optionally also a Description for the new Bonus Earn Rule.

Note: The best practice recommendation is to include meaningful descriptions that describe the Bonus Earn Rule conditions, especially if you're using the Bonus Summary API feature. This feature returns the Bonus Earn Rule Description in the API response.

  1. Click Save. The platform creates a copy of the selected Bonus Earn Rule, and places it at the bottom of the screen.
